What is smart film?

A microscopically thin PDLC layer inside the film or glass. Power on: crystals align — crystal clear. Power off: crystals scatter light — frosted and private. Switching is silent and instant — milliseconds, no moving parts. Failsafe privacy: if the power goes out, the glass goes frosted. Privacy is the resting state.
